Kyla Matthews
Grade 2/3
Hello! My name is Kyla Matthews, and I’m thrilled to be part of the Grade 2/3 team once again at Coalbanks Elementary. This year marks my sixth year at Coalbanks! Throughout my teaching journey, I’ve had the opportunity to teach Grade 4/5 at Coalbanks, as well as Junior High and High School Social Studies, Math, and Physical Education in Bow Island. I graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies and a Bachelor of Education with a specialization in Early Childhood Education.
I’m passionate about building strong relationships with students and creating a classroom where they feel supported and inspired to learn. When I’m not in the classroom, you’ll likely find me exploring the mountains through hiking and backpacking, out for a run, or spending quality time with my family and friends. I’m looking forward to another amazing year of learning, growing, and connecting with students, staff, and families at Coalbanks!
