Personal Mobile Devices /Electronics
Students are therefore, strongly discouraged from bringing cell phones and other mobile devices to school. We also understand that parents/guardians may need to connect with their children. During the school day should an urgent situation arise when you need to contact your child, please contact the school office directly. Some families like to connect with their children after school to be certain they have arrived safely at home and have provided them with a mobile device. These devices must be left in backpacks, powered down, stored in their lockers and are not to be used during the entirety of the school day. Students always have access to a phone in the office should they need to contact parents/guardians.
As announced in June 2024 by the Minister of Education, personal mobile devices (cellphones, smartphones, smartwatches, etc.) will not be permitted to be used during class time. Exceptions for health, medical, or educational reasons may be approved by the principal.
If a student without a pre-approved exception uses their personal mobile device during the school day, they will be given a verbal reminder. Upon further violations, their device may be confiscated and placed in a secure location for parents to pick up. We appreciate the partnership between parents/guardians, students and staff to support a distraction-free learning environment that promotes wellbeing.
The school is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged cell phones or other electronic devices.
