Grade 2/3

Hello! My name is Josh Pettipas and I am very excited to be joining the Coalbanks Elementary school community this year teaching Grade 2/3. I am originally from Antigonish, Nova Scotia where I attended Saint Francis Xavier University, obtaining both my Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees. I have spent the last eleven years in Alberta, beginning my teaching career in Brooks in 2013, where I taught grades 3 and 4. I then moved to Medicine Hat in 2022 to teach junior high, but I am very excited to be moving back into an elementary classroom. When I am not teaching I love to be camping in the mountains with family and friends or participating in or viewing a variety of sports. I am an avid fan of Toronto's sports teams, particularly the Leafs and the Jays. My teaching philosophy is rooted in creating and fostering strong working relationships with students and parents and so I look very forward to meeting everyone in the Coalbanks community!
